I received a 12 pack of the chocolate Slim Shots. I was scared to try it, at first. I hate when I feel like I drank way too much coffee and I was worried that would be the case with these.

Not at all.

Let’s start at the beginning. Taste. Um, how shall I put this? VILE. I did mine like a shot. I spent the better part of the morning throwing up in my mouth. It WAS chilled, as recommended. But I chose not to mix it with anything. Perhaps that was the problem? Dunno. It tasted like I would imagine chalk to taste, only worse. I felt sick all morning. Like that pregnancy nausea, without the pregnancy. I hope:)

But let me tell you. Once the sick feeling wore off, it worked awesomely. I was not hungry until 4 or so. Which is unusual for me, seeing as I get hungry in my sleep. Once this stuff starts working, it works. It keeps the hunger and cravings at bay. You still have to fight it a little. But it definitely takes the edge off.

No jitters. At all. In fact, once I wasn’t nauseous anymore, I forgot that I was even on anything.

Truthfully, because of the taste, I haven’t tried them again. It was THAT disgusting to me. Although, with the holidays coming up, I may have to plug my nose and do a shot.

Being nauseous might be worth the end result. Especially because seems to work.

I received Sophie(the blond doll) from the new Liv Doll collection by Spinmaster toys.

At first glance, I thought she was just another Barbie wanna-be. But not at all. First of all, she is much more wholesome looking. She is also WAY more in proportion. The clothing and accessories that Sophie comes with are more conservative. Her belly button isn’t hanging out and her butt cheeks are completely covered.
One of the cool things about the Liv dolls are their eyes. They aren’t your typical painted on peepers. They are more 3-dimensional, giving the doll a different type of appearance. Another thing I appreciated about the Liv Doll is the fact that her lips aren’t Angelina Jolie bloated. They are full but in a more realistic way. Let’s be real, no one has lips that look like that…except for Bratz Dollz. And those look like they are ready to hit the streets. Also, her hair can be cut, styled, played with and CHANGED. She has various wigs that are easily taken off and new ones put on. A budding hairstylists dream.

An interesting feature, which was totally stolen from the Webkinz phenomenon but I’m totally OK with is, the online play. There are a few games and an area to dress the chosen doll and do fashion type things. The online Liv Doll world doesn’t seem to have that much going on though. I didn’t see a virtual world like Webkinz has. It seems a little boring but harmless. I don’t have to worry that a 45 year old man is stalking our tweens while they change their virtual dolls hairstyles.
All in all, I really am impressed with this doll and her accessories. I’m 100% positive that had these been around when I was 10, I would have begged my parents for them. My daughter, who is 11, is thrilled that I’m letting her keep Sophie and not hoarding her for myself.
She…is welcome.
And I highly recommend choosing the Liv dolls over the Bratz. For the sake of our daughters innocence!!

Who doesn’t love Snow White and her adorable Seven Dwarfs? The first feature length animated film, made in 1937 by Walt Disney quickly became a beloved classic, dubbed “the one that started it all”.

The film, back in 1939, earned an honorary Academy Award for significant screen innovation.

Snow White has always been one of my favorite princesses. So when One@One sent out an email asking who wanted the chance to review the re-release by Disneys new “Diamond Collection” of the fairest of alls, Snow White, I excitedly accepted. I mean, check out the name of my review blog, eh?!

What can possibly be said negative about this package? Included in the Diamond Edition, are blu-ray and dvd versions of Snow White.

On Blu-Ray:

*DisneyView-Disneys “pioneering animated feature” utilizing Blu-ray technology.

Snow White has been unavailable in ANY form since 2001. I think I have, somewhere in my basement, a VCR tape of Snow White.

My son wanted to watch it in the car today. I grabbed one of the discs and put it in the DVD player attached to my Honda and…NOTHING. My son was hysterical, because he is a brat like that, but he was disappointed. I was so upset! A brand new Disney DVD and it didn’t work. Humph. Turns out it was user error. I was putting the Blu-Ray in the DVD player. No wonder.

A side note. It is my opinion and my opinion only but…Snow White is the scariest of all the princess movies. And truly, based on experience with my two older kids when they were younger, the witch causes nightmares.

Anyway…
Blu-Ray is available to the public on October 6th…today!
DVD is available November 24th.

Disclosurer: I received NO MONEY. BUT, I did get a really great Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: Diamond Edition Blu-Ray and DVD combo pack. I happen to be super excited about owning this. And I really, really love Snow White. And Dopey, Sneezy, Doc, Sleepy, Bashful, Grumpy and Happy. Oh yes, let’s not forget the handsome Prince.

I’m sure that she is a really great writer. She has quite a few books published that have good reviews attached to them. Eileen Goudge has been a published author since 1989 with fifteen titles and millions in print. Outstanding.

But, I wasn’t that into this book, Once In A Blue Moon. Actually, if truth be told, which it’s going to be here. I didn’t finish it. I couldn’t.

The characters were real and likable enough. The plot was interesting yet predictable. But I found the dialogue to be boring. Or maybe that’s really how people talk? I don’t know. I like characters with a little snark. On occasion there was some creative conversation but mostly, yawn.

Books are subjective. Just because this book wasn’t the type of book that I enjoyed, it may be the perfect book for someone else.

Personally, I like books that have more adventure and less predictability.

So, the premise of the book is this. Two sisters, same mother, different father. They were taken away from their mom because she was a drug dealer and neglectful of her children. The two sisters go to different foster homes and have entirely different life experiences. They meet up again in their 30′s. And they rediscover their bond, amongst other stuff that happens.

I actually had been looking forward to reading it based on the description with One@One, the network who I get my review stuff. Check them out, by the way, AWESOME ladies!!

I was disappointed in the read. Sigh.

But. *smile* You might not be.

I was at Blogher 09. I was one of the many who received some really awesome “swag”. And I acted with dignity and grace, thankyouverymuch.
I was at the party where Crocs were given out. I missed the whole elbow in baby head drama. I’m glad. I think I would have been sickened and disgusted by selfish actions.
At the Social Luxe Party sponsored by Swiffer, I picked up, and uneventfully, might I add, a pair of Croc Capri flip flops.
Let me tell you. I live in them. They are white with orange inside. Not a typical color combination I would choose. But I don’t care. They were generously given to me. And you know what? I love them.
They got me through Blogher because I carried them in my GINORMOUS bag and was able to put them on when the stilettos were killing my decrepit feet.
I carry them with me. EVERYWHERE. I’m not even kidding. Even being home, I carry the same humungously GINORMOUS bag with my Croc Capris tucked away inside…if I’m not already wearing them.
So, I must, without sounding kiss butt-ish say THANK YOU! To the hostesses of the Socialluxe Party and to Crocs. I absolutely love these flip flops. Comfy. Easy to walk in. Cozy. Not exactly the prettiest or my favorite of color combination but that’s neither here nor Chicago! My Croc Capri flip flops and I have become very attached to one another.
